FOR THE 11 DEC 24 WEDNESDAY NIGHT NET (PCN) SUBMIT A ICS-213
Instead of the normal WinLink net check-in, members are requested to
transmit an ICS-213 General Message to N4PRS. Yes, we did this last
month but just in case, here’s how: Open RMS Express then open a new
message form. On the actions bar, click Select Template. In the Template
Manager open Standard Templates (version x.x.x) then open ICS USA Forms.
Select ICS213 General Message.txt. The form will open. Click “THIS IS AN
EXERCISE” in the gray area at the top of the page. Complete the form,
click Submit and follow the instruction in the pop-up window. For item
2, send it to “Mike Marsh, Net Controller”. For item 7, in addition to
your message if any, please add “PCN CHECK-IN”. Questions? Contact Bruce
Perkins, K4ONC, 252-626-2730 or K4ONC@aol.com

ending yesterday at 4 p.m. local. The largest solar event was a X2 event
observed at 08/0906Z. (The blackout was over southern Africa. An Earth
directed CME is unlikely.) The Space Weather Prediction Center expects
solar activity to be moderate today and low Tuesday and Wednesday.
There’s a slight chance for X-class flares today and tomorrow.
There are 6 numbered sunspot regions on the Sun facing Earth this
morning. There were 5 last Monday, 11 the Monday before.
Sunday’s noon Solar Flux Index (SFI) observation at Penticton was 178,

Tuesday and 175 on Wednesday. The much more important SFI 90 day
trailing average was 202 yesterday. It was 206 last Sunday.
The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled yesterday. The SWPC expects
the field to be quiet to unsettled today through Wednesday. The
planetary K-index at 7 a.m. this morning was 2.67 indicating quiet
conditions.
No real change in propagation: poor during the day on 80 to 40, fair to
good at night; good day and night on 30 to 15; and good day, poor to
